An interviewee on www.spi.com.sg, Ms. Yvonne, recounts “I like jogging at night, especially ith my music on. One night, when I was jogging past the Ford Factory, my preset channel suddenly switched to some sort of Japanese folksongs, sung by amateurs. The sound was very spooky; you know the kind of sound quality with fizzy background noise – like playing an old record from the 60′s on a gramophone. I was damn scared that I threw away my radio and I swore that I would never jog near there again. Spooky right...Hee...Would you try going there?

Tang Yuans

My favourite Tang Yuans are those without filling and dye in red, pink and orange colour ones.. They are small and chewy and boiled in the sweet longan soup with pandan leaves! I can have alot! My mum in law just cooked some yesterday night, but they are those with the peanut and sesame ones, the factory made ones. Tastes good too!!

Praying for Dong Zi

Went to a temple near Tampines with Ron and mum in law to pray for Dong Zi yesterday. We should go now before Wednesday as it gets really crowded on the actual day. This is the first time I bring Jeane to a temple, but I dont think she knows what going on. She just know bai bai and then there's alot of smoke by the incense and she keeps running about and have a good time with Jade.

Know your enemy

Girls always detest pests. So how do u get free of them if they are at your house?

Apparently, ants dont like sour stuff, mosquitoes detest vitamins and cockroaches dont do fragrances. So to repel ants, squeeze fresh lemon juice or lemon slices on surfaes where they'll pass. To prevent getting bitten by mosquitoes, dissolve vitamin c and B2 in water, then wipe the solution on ur skin for a scent tat mozzies hate..but where e hell do i get B2? Whats that? haha.. For roaches, put small pcs of soap in a container of water. Place this where e dirty buggers hang out. Try these tips oh to get rid of kakas!!

My fav Donut store

I always wont miss the donut when I went pass this store. Its is so gooood. My favourite is the peanut/mint dark chocolate ring. Its is simple, chocolaty and delicious, I dont really like the fanciful ones. So far I only know 3 outlets, in Suntec, Novena and Tiong Bahru. Wish they would have more outlets! So I can always get to eat them.

2010 National Geographic Photography

Singaporean photographer Aaron Lim has taken the Grand Prize in National Geographic’s annual photo contest under nature category.

He trumped more than 16,000 other entries with his picture of trekkers watching Gunung Rinjani, a volcano on the island of Lombok, Indonesia, erupt as the sun rose at the break of dawn.

Freelance photographer and contest judge Joel Sartore said on National Geographic, “This image best represented the craft of photography. Not only is the light subtle and beautiful, and not only is it a lovely scene, but there’s a volcanic eruption going on in the background.”

National Geographic magazine senior photo editor and judge Sadie Quarrier added that combining multiple images into one stitched image “gives us a wide, powerful, and unique view.”
